Carpooling ain’t easy—which is how Word of Mouth Speech Therapy was born!
As a working mom of two littles, Gina understands the intricacies of managing your children’s education, after school activities, and budding social lives!
Our in-home speech therapy is convenient and effective, personalized to each client. Research shows therapy at home yields better results than clinics. It includes parent coaching and home practice programs to support skill reinforcement between sessions.
Assessments
Word of Mouth Speech offers thorough speech and language assessments to understand each person’s communication skills. Our skilled speech pathologists use interviews, tests, and observations to check speech, language, and communication. These assessments show strengths, challenges, and areas to improve. Results come in clear reports that help create personalized therapy plans. This first step is important for effective, focused treatment to improve communication skills.

Superbills & Insurance
At Word of Mouth Speech, we provide private-pay speech and language therapy services. We are considered an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, we are happy to provide superbills (detailed invoices with the necessary treatment and diagnostic codes) so clients may submit them to their insurance company for possible reimbursement.
To help you understand the process, please review the following:
Review Your Policy
Each insurance plan is unique. Many include deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments that are your responsibility. We recommend contacting your insurance company before beginning services to clarify coverage for out-of-network speech therapy.
Primary Care Physician Requirements
Some plans require you to have a designated Primary Care Physician (PCP) or to obtain a referral before accessing specialist services, such as speech therapy. Please confirm whether your plan has this requirement.
Out-of-Network Provider Status
Word of Mouth Speech is an out-of-network provider. This means we do not have direct contracts with insurance companies. Clients are responsible for communicating with their insurance company about reimbursement eligibility.
Superbills for Reimbursement
Upon request, we will provide superbills that include all required information (e.g., CPT and ICD-10 codes) for insurance submission. Clients are responsible for submitting superbills and any additional paperwork directly to their insurance company. Please note: reimbursement is not guaranteed and is determined solely by your insurance plan.
Referrals & Pre-Authorizations
Certain insurance plans require prior authorization or referrals from a physician before specialist visits are covered. It is your responsibility to confirm and obtain these if required.
Understanding Your Benefits
If your insurance plan does not cover some or all of our services, you remain responsible for the full session fee at the time of service. Knowing your benefits in advance will help you make informed decisions about your care.
We value transparency and want to make your experience as smooth as possible. By staying informed about your coverage and responsibilities, you can ensure that you get the most out of your investment in speech and language therapy.
